On Saturday, the designer store of fashion designer Monika Sablić was officially opened in the Mall of Split shopping center. After more than a decade of creation, the imaginative woman from Split dared to take a new career step that delighted her many fellow citizens, as well as fashion lovers from the rest of Croatia. Namely, the opening ceremony was not missed by many local stars, and the arrival of Tereza Kesovija and Vlatka Pokos attracted special attention.
How happy they were about Monika's success was seen when they sang Tereza's timeless hit My Last and First Love together, which delighted everyone gathered.
"The verse 'my gold, my sun' really suits my dear Monika because she is real gold, a Dalmatian full of cheerfulness and spirit, and I decided a long time ago to be surrounded only by such positive people. I am happy to see how she plays with fashion, from elegant evening dresses to everyday T-shirts that she designed with Jadran Lazić. I was especially happy when they told me that one of the T-shirts from the collection was with my image. They tell me that people are really looking for her," explained Tereza Kesovija, a Croatian music legend.
Equally happy was Petra Nižetić Mastelić, a face we haven't seen for a long time. Petra delighted with her appearance, but also with the chosen words she said about her friend: "Looking at her success today, I feel really excited because it takes me back to some ancient days, when I was one of the first people to wear Monika's, then initial creations. We used to jokingly say that I was a kind of guinea pig for her. Namely, at the same time, Monika and I started our fashion careers, she as a designer, and I as a fashion blogger. That is why I congratulate her from the bottom of my heart and wish her all the luck with her new store, which, I am sure, will be very much recognized by the women of Split."
Matija Vuica, the doyen of fashion design, who also fondly remembers Monika's first fashion steps, also rejoiced at the opening. The respect among friends and colleagues has lasted for more than two decades because Monika proudly wore Matija's wedding dress at the wedding with her husband Goran Sablić, just as Matija is today, with joy, among the first to choose Monika's floral tunic from the new collection.
"When I started as a designer, you needed word of mouth, from ear to ear, for someone to find out about your work. Today, designers have social networks at their disposal with which they can instantly reach those who want to follow their creation. That's why Monika just needs to continue working this well, and thanks to the fact that she is a master of social networks, I'm sure that great commercial success awaits her.", Matija emphasized.
Vlatka Pokos has no doubts about this, emphasizing: "Monika could have had a comfortable life without deciding to be a businesswoman and designer. But she has a strong personality and attitude, which I greatly appreciate in a woman, so she is responsible for her success herself. That is why today she can be proud of herself, as we are proud of her, of her cheerful and cheerful creations that show that Monika is bursting with energy and ideas."
All these beautiful messages left the otherwise talkative designer speechless: "I am truly overjoyed and I lack words to express my satisfaction with such a warm reception and the love I feel today from the guests at the opening. Gathering people of such a wide profile, from childhood friends, clients to a legendary music diva, means more than any material success. These people make me strong, and that only further contributes to my imagination, creativity and good energy.", concluded the designer surrounded by her husband Goran, son Andrej and daughter Mali Marija.
